Size

With our males, Teddy is the smallest and then Scooter, Buck is also a very small male, Rover, Spike is a nice, medium size, but he is our largest Dakota Sport Retriever breeding male at this time.

With our females, the very smallest are Domino, Frankie, Foxy, Pixie, Penny, Dolly, Dutchess, Libby, Sunny, Jolene, Fresca.

Any merle or hidden merle puppy may, or may not have blue eyes, or one blue eye and one brown eye, or partial blue eyes, or no blue eyes.. (Brown or amber colored eyes are more then likely..)

Buck and Teddy are the only male Sport Retrievers that are Merles. A Merle can never be bred to another merle. (For a healthy puppy, it can only have one merle gene.) Teddy and Buck will never be bred to a merle female, or a hidden merle female.

Our obvious merle females are Frankie, Bella, Sapphire, Cheyenne, Domino, Jolene, and Dutchess. Our hidden Merle females are Libby and Dolly.

As much as I would like blue eyed merle/ or hidden merle Sports, Frankie is the only one of our girls that does have two blue eyes. Domino, Cheyenne, and Saphhire do have one blue eye and one brown eye. Jolene and Bella do have partial blue eyes. Rarely we have sold pups with one or two, or partial blue eyes. However, it is not very common.

Since blue eyes are not for sure able to tell until 6 weeks old or so, most of our blue eyed puppies are sold before they are born, or very shortly after. I have kept a lot of "merle/hidden merle" pups, and always hoped they would have blue eyes. Frankie is our only one with two blue eyes ;o)

Mia, our son, Gage's spayed female blue merle Sport Retriever, with one blue eye and one brown eye.

Toby, a blue eyed male light gold and white parti pup out of Pebbles and Blue.

Lily, a female cream hidden merle Sport Retriever, with one blue eye and one brown eye, out of Pebbles and Tonka.

"Ethan", a red with white markings male out of Ellie & Pepper, with two blue eyes!

Preborn deposits are always 1st deposit, first pick, and so on. You have the right to pass one one litter, and move to the next, or even the next litter, if the puppy that you want is not born or available in your first choice litter. Therefore, it is also possible to get bumped back, farther down a list, if someone with a deposit before you passes on a litter born before your first choice litter. It is always good to get a preborn deposit in ASAP! Some may put a deposit down for a particular litter even before that litter is conceived, and they normally have first pick no matter what, since their deposit came in before any others.

Puppies are chosen in the order that deposits are recieved. No matter what litters deposits may be on, it is still first deposit, first pick. Anyone with a deposit down can pass on a litter, and wait for another litter. We always reserve the right to first pick from any litter! However, we do not keep puppies from most litters. Preborn deposits are accepted! Litters on the way. We can accept preborn deposits on our planned litters. However, if a litter does not happen, your deposit will then go to another litter.

Wren is going to be expecting a litter of Dakota Sport Retriever puppies by Spike, to be born late spring 2025.

This litter is expected to mature around 45-55 pounds.

Females will be $1800 and the Males $1600.
